Mr. Heinz Kroczek

CEO, Project Development in Africa (PDiA), Germany

Mr. Heinz Kroczek is a civil engineer and development consultant with a career spanning more than four decades across Africa, Asia, and the USA. He holds a Master of Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from the Technical High School of Aachen, specialising in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Regional Planning, along with a Diploma in Business Consulting & Economic Management from the Management Academie Bad Harzburg. Mr. Kroczek is currently the CEO of Project Development in Africa (PDiA), through which leads planning and capacity-building initiatives, including a regional development plan and masterplan for Kenya’s Lake Victoria district, institutional restructuring for the Government of Côte d’Ivoire, and railway infrastructure development in Ghana.

Mr. Kroczek began his international career as Technical Advisor to Nepal’s Ministry of Public Works, Building Department, Kathmandu, on behalf of Germany’s Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. He went on to serve the Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation (KAF) as Representative and Director in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and later in Nairobi, Kenya, overseeing foundation activities across Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. During this period, he also advised the African Co-operative Savings and Credit Association (ACOSCA), organising capacity-building seminars, regional meetings and bi-annual meetings for its 42 National Leagues.
Mr. Kroczek subsequently became Managing Director and Executive Partner of ASSMANN International Consult Ltd. (AIC) in Braunschweig, Germany, leading the successful delivery of infrastructure and development projects in Gabon, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Nigeria, Ghana, Chile, Peru, and Nepal, in partnership with institutions including the African Union, KfW, the European Investment Bank, the European Commission, the African Development Bank (AfDB), UNIDO, UNEP, and the Asian Development Bank.
